What to find in Ion
Les Duchov (The Ghost Forest) is dark and hostile place. Most Gaidinians try to not go there unless needed. Many dark witches live there though. It's dangerous to go there alone. It's always dark as if the place knew no sun. Casta is a small witch town in Les Duchov.
Les Duchov
The Darkness. It stretches over this piece of land like a veil covering a bride. A dark and threatening one. Full of secrets and mystery. Things that don't want to be found, creatures that don't want to be seen. Some Gaidinians might make the dangerous venture to Les Duchov to seek out the ritual spells of dark witchcraft. Others might be looking for a place to hide something, a place to bury a secret. Or maybe, just maybe, they want to disappear themselves. It is said the first witches of Les Duchov were shunned from their society, banned from their homes and families for their dark magicks. So they made their way to this forest to hide from those who meant them harm, to live. To practice their craft. Combining their power together, the witches wanted to hide themselves and their secrets from the world so they cast a potent spell around Les Duchov, shrouding it forever in shadows and darkness with the moon as its only light.
Mysts of Somnyis
Legend says that Somnyis was a witch that specialized in putting victims into a deep slumber using only their breath. Once they were unconscious Somnyis would cast rituals that would drain years from their victim's life force, transferring it to themselves to extend their own life span. In most cases, the victims would later awaken in a dead meadow just outside Les Duchov, able to continue their lives with a few years taken from them. However, for any that dared to hunt witches or, in later years when
wanderers in the woods became scarce, Somnyis might very well drain every ounce left of someone's life force.
Patches of dense mist linger deep in Les Duchov where Somnyis was said to live. It's colours shift in pale greyish green, purple or blue. The scent and taste are intoxicating and different to every individual but the mist is hard to inhale. It feels like something cold and slick crawling into your lungs. These mists do render Gaidinian's unconscious but not because of some 'legendary witch'.. probably.
