Sheizin is a place not many want to cross or visit, it is rather hostile and dangerous. Gaidinians usually avoid this place, and they do so for partly purely pragmatic reasons such as unfriendly environment, high density of dangerous creatures and poisonous fans as well as lack of shelter. But the truth is that Sheizin is indeed an extremely beautiful and magical place. Animals here are dangerous but rare and unique, they are magical and interesting and there is so little knowledge about them that the whole area is covered in a very tempting mystery that many Gaidinians wish to discover. But be careful. Not everyone returned from these meadows.

Sheizin Bees (Celav - pl. Celavy)

Sheizin bees are very special because they collect pollen only from the Sheizin red grass blossoms which are also purple red-ish and so their honey is purple red-ish as well. This amazing natural miracle can only occur in Sheizin as if the bees are captured and moved somewhere else they start to collect common yellow pollen and their honey is of a golden color just as any other bees'. The Sheizin bees' honey is commonly used for luxury desserts and similar proposes as it is very rare and expensive. It tastes similar to common honey but more after flowers, a little like honey mixed with rose extract.
Same as common bees, Shaizin bees die if they sting someone/something, however, they are known to be much more aggressive than common bees, they will attack anything in the ratio of 15 meters around their hive, which is, by the way, of a brown red-dish color because they use the red wood of the twisted trees to build it.
Shizin bees are also much more venomous than common bees, common workers can kill a child and the Sheizin bee queen can kill a grown man with little to zero effort. The venom usually takes about 20 minutes to kill the victim.

Twisted Trees (Teniy - pl. Teniys)

twisted_trees.png

Twisted trees are one of the typical most characteristic things about Sheizin. They grow usually near water and they are actually twisted, their wood grows in spirals which creates the characteristic twisted shape of their trunk. The wood from these trees is red and Sheizin bees use it to build their hives.
Furniture or houses made out of twisted tree wood are very expensive, considered a luxury as chopping twisted trees is looked down to. These trees are the only high vegetation of Sheizin meadows, most of the other plants in this area are of low vegetation types such as bushes, grass, and similar. They are often considered crows of these meadows. They can inhabit over 30 species of insect and small critters each. Sheizin bees build their nests only on these trees as any other vegetation si too weak to hold the weight of the hive.
Not all twisted trees are leaned, they can grow straight as well (can be seen in the background of the picture), also not all twisted trees are deciduous, some of them are coniferous.

- It is believed that Shaizin is the place where Veosy originally came from.
- On stormy nights, you can see Zaruus wandering around the meadows.

- Many believe that Sheizin is favorited among deities as a peaceful sanctuary because it's a calm place that most mortals do not dare to step.

- Some Gaidinians' believe that by using a feather of Strashlik, water from the sparkling pond, and Sheizin bee honey you can create a life potion that can bring fallen back to life (it is, of course, just a fairy tale, many Gaidinians tried to do so and all you get is watery honey with a feather in it). However, some Gaidinians still believe it's possible. Maybe there's one ingredient missing?
- At night the Sheizin meadows look like from another world, especially if you are lucky enough to catch Hauwly wandering around the plains searching for water bodies.

Interesting facts

According to the legend, the water in the Sheizin meadows is poisonous to any creature that does not come from that certain area (ex. foreign fauna). And although this was never proved to be an actual thing, there are recorded cases of Gaidinians dying after drinking the water from the Sheizin area. It is probably due to the microorganisms living in the water, these organisms are also believed to cause a special chemical reaction in plants which turns their leaves purple red-ish color. The water isn't of any unusual color or smell, and most Gaidinian think that this legend is just an old fairy tale that was never based on any truth but assumptions.
Aside from this legend, what is indeed a fact, is that Hauwly needs the special Sheizin water to regain their energy to return every night. As they are made out of light-like energy that mirrors the light from the moon they are not actually physical and need to gain this form using magic they gain from the water itself. It is believed that Sheizin water has vitalizing effects on anyone who baths or applies it on their body. Hauwly bathe in the water and they are also able to walk on the water. Sometimes, it is possible to see them run over Shaizin lakes/rivers.

The legend of Sheizin water

The sparkling pond

As you can see in the preview picture which depicts the so-called sparkling pond. There is a legend about the sparkling pond that says that once a year when all the planets are in the right position there is a ray of light coming thru the atmosphere and clouds touching the surface of this magical pond which makes it glow for about 3-5 hours. Gaidinians believe that if you drink from this pond during this time you will gain immortality. It is a very old legend that originated about 3 000 years ago and has been proved to be nothing but a fairytale multiple times, however, some Gaidinians still believe that people who tried to prove the sparkling pond does not sparkle or have magical properties simple didn't pick the right time of the year so the legend still lives on.

An old legend says that once, there was a wanderer, a fallen Kyome, who had lost his dreamer and so did his purpose of life. Wandering thru endless fields of Sheizin he encountered its danger and wonders and fell in love with the place that reminded him of his dreamer just as much as of himself. The legend says that the Kyome cut his tail on the red grass fields of Sheizin and the hair of his tail hair grew into the soil and bonded him with the land he admired. Wandering around these red fields, learning more about both the fauna and flora, discovering the secrets and mystery of the place.
After decades the Kyome became known as the Sheizin Guardian. And yet he might have not be seen by every passenger his presence is said to be omnipresent. The legend says that if you get lost on your way through these lands, he will join you on your journey to show you how to safely get back home. Just as if he was guarding souls lost in nightmares back to the arousal.

The Legends of Fairin

The Sheizin Guardian

The biggest lake of Gaidinia. The place where water dragons, scyllas, mermaids and other creatures of old tales can be found. It's deep and dangerous. A source of many legends, most of which are unusually scary to talk about through the nights.
It's like a small sea in the middle of an island, with its own mind and soul, a heart beating somewhere at the bottom of the lake.
